I’m Behdokht Hosseini—neuroscientist, medical writer, and lifelong student of the emotional mind.
I hold an MSc and PhD in Neuroscience from Erasmus University Rotterdam, where I studied how the brain processes fear and emotion, focusing on the amygdala. My perspective is shaped by my Persian roots, my academic and professional life in the Netherlands, and a rich tapestry of international experiences—including time spent living in Libya and Oman. These diverse settings continue to deepen my understanding of people, emotion, and scientific communication.
Alongside my academic background, I earned a certification in Medical Writing and Editing from the University of Chicago. Today, I combine scientific insight with editorial clarity—translating complex data into meaningful communication for professionals and the public alike.
Whether I’m writing about the emotional brain or clinical research, my goal is to make science accessible, empowering, and deeply human.
